We first had this sandwich during a visit to Broadway, a village in the region of the English countryside known as the Cotswolds. This dish is popular on high tea menus, and though it is simple, it's an unexpected sweet treat that keeps you full for hours!
Makes 4 sandwiches
1 cup roasted unsalted peanuts
4 tbsp honey
1/4 cup water
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp dried ginger powder
8 slices of your favorite bread
3 ripe bananas
Butter for grilling
In a blender, add water, peanuts, 2 tbsp honey, salt, cinnamon powder, and ginger powder. Blend until desired consistency is achieved and use more water if required.
Chop bananas into thin, round slices.
For each sandwich, spread peanut butter on both bread slices. On one side, add bananas and drizzle honey to your heart's desire!
Close the sandwich, and grill on both sides using butter as needed.
Drizzle honey (we love wildflower or raw orange honey) on top, and enjoy!
